Dave for Model Number 110.88762793 Washer works fine, but the dryer doesn't heat at all to dry clothes. Drum spins, and the blower is operating. 240VAC present at the terminal block. Heating element measures 11 ohms with a DVM. There's 120VAC at the element terminal. Not sure how to test the centrifugal switch. It appears to be part of the motor. A step by step test procedure would be great so I can eliminate the motor and timer as potential problems.
Answer Dave, The connections on the motor for the centrifugal switch will be Pins 1 and 2. If you start the dryer motor and test from these 2 leads, there should be 120 vac going across them that would go to the heater. If there is not then the motor is faulty and would need to be replaced. If there is then then look for thermostats, heater or timer to be faulty. Read More...
