Margaret for Model Number Maytag MTB2456AE I contacted the chat forum at Appliance Pros and they sent me to this website. The problem - both the lights in my refridgerator burned out at about the same time. The light in the freezer still works. I replaced the bulbs but neither of them works. Do I need to change the receptacle too? If so, is that something that can be done by my husband? Does the wattage of the bulbs matter? The new bulbs are 60 watts, the old ones were 40 watts Could there be anything else wrong with the wiring, etc.? Thanks for your help.
Answer Hello Margaret. You will need to check and see if the door switch W11384469 is bad on the unit. If so, it will prevent power from going to the lights. Also, look for loose or broken wires on the unit. You will need to remove the control panel inside the refrigerator to access these parts. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
