This dual infinite switch controls a dual radiant surface burner, allowing you to choose and regulate the small (inner), large (outer), or both heating rings. Replacing a failed switch restores proper burner selection and smooth heat control.

Having a "hot" problem with front left burner (dual heat) - could be burner (how to open the top?) or the switch p/n 8522887. However, I don't know if wires to switch were connected properly, or how to test this switch - the tests I found all indicated for H or L, my switch has P and S...Can you tell me: 1. how to open top of stove to get to burners? 2. wiring diagram or schematic for this switch (missing from back of stove) 3. how to test if switch is bad. Thanks much.

Sue, To access the top burner assembly, when you open the oven door, on either side there will be a screw that holds the main top in place or they may be on the upper part of opening. You would take screws out and you can lift top. To check the switches, S2 goes to the inner element, 4a goes to the outer element and 2 is the common side.
