R Smith for Model Number Whirlpool DU850DWGQ1 Hi there. I need some help, please. My dishwasher started leaking periodically in the last couple weeks, becoming more frequent in the last few days. Water drips off the lower left corner of the front panel, at approximately a 2/3 cup through the normal cycle. I also have water stream down the left side from the door vents, if I open it prior to the dry cycle (this started prior to the other leak). The machine is about 11 years old, and I use Finish detergent tablets, with occasional Lemi Shine to combat deposits. Additionally, I did use Affresh a couple of times in the last month. I have not torn apart the dishwasher yet, so any direction to guide my work would be most appreciated. Thanks!
Answer R. Smith, This issue based on the information sounds like the leak is coming from the vent. If you take the inner door panel off, inspect the vent and check to see if you see water lines on the inside of the door that would be coming from the vent area. Also check your spray arms to ensure that there are not any cracks or clogging of the ports in them or around the edges. This would cause the water flow to go in a different direction and cause a leaking issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, October 11, 2013
