Michelle for Model Number G7CE3034XS00 I know which part I need to replace, WPW10312185, I just can’t find any videos or information on how to do it. Do you know of a site that would be helpful?
Answer Hello Michelle, I'm sorry but we do not yet have a video of this repair. Before beginning, be sure to turn off all power to the unit. You will need to pull the cooktop from its' installation and remove the screws around the perimeter of the unit that is closest to the glass top, (usually three in front, three in rear, and two on each end). You will then be able to lift the glass top from the burner box to access the infinite switches. Be sure to take pictures of the wiring so you can tell what wires connect to what terminals or label them. The alternative is to label the wires so you can tell exactly where they were initially installed. When you get the old switch out, compare the switches to ensure the terminals are in the same locations "as labeled" on the switches. Install the new switch and wires in the correct positions. When you install the screws around the perimeter, do not fully tighten them as this may cause the cooktop to "rock" in the countertop. Leave them about loose by about 1/4 turn. Reinstall the cooktop using foam tape WB04K10015, (you will need two rolls), to prevent spills from getting between the cooktop and countertop. Turn the power back on and test for normal operation.
