Phil A. for Model Number MEDE500VW0 I am getting an F01 error code on my Maytag Dryer. From the tech sheet, it says to replace the control board. I order one on line and it had the same error code. I read in the tech sheet how to measure the resistance across a couple of the pins to check if the control board is bad. however, I cant get to the board because of some screws. I believe they are the torx screw but now sure. I tried T10/T15 but could not find a fit. What do I need to get the panel off the back of the control board. Also, Is it a good assumption to just try another board?
Answer Phil, No, it is not a good assumption to just try another board. The F01 Indicates an issue in the machine control board WPW10174746 not the WPW10283478 U/I console control board. check the wire harness between the two control boards and replace the machine control board, and you should be fine.
