Fred for Model Number whirlpol gas dryer # WGD5300VW0 Clothes are not drying, timer seems to not be working in the auto dry mode. 1. timer works and heats in timed mode 2. can hear timer motor starting and stoping in auto mode. (put timer in auto, start dryer, open and close the door to stop noise, timer starts and stops, starts stops, like on off on off doesn't seem to move) I am doing the troubleshooting over the phone with son in law. not to inclined, What could possibly be the problem?
Answer Hello Fred. The no heat is the timer issue. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power.
