Travis for Model Number WED4900XW0 My dryer was running fine, but is getting way too hot by the time the cycle ended (the outside of the dryer was like an oven to the touch). I replaced the hi-limit thermostat, the operating thermostat, and the thermal cutoff. Now it will not start, but I can smell the heater getting hot. Is it the timer, the temperature selector, or something else?
Answer Travis, It's probably something else, Probably a crossed or loose wire at the motor, or the motor itself has failed 279827. In order to heat the motor has to run and close the heat circuit (1M to 2M) in the motor centrifugal switch. This supplies the L2 120 VAC to the heater element.
