Ed for Model Number MED574 OTQO Dryer will not start, checked the start switch and you can hear it click and acts like the timer is trying to turn but doesn't. Took off timer and I hear a rattling sound. I am second guessing myself since in all the trouble shooting help guides there is not an association between a bad timer and a dryer not starting.
Answer Hi Ed. I will try to give helpfull advice so your dryer will perform more completely. Yes if your conditions are as such, then I would replace the timer. This part # is WP8566184. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermal fuses and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Thank you. Read More...
