Joan B. for Model Number MEDC500VW0 My dryer is running very hot and does not have a cool down cycle when it is in the high temperature position. My grandson has been using it and he forgets that he has to turn the dial counter clockwise. Would that cause the dryer to not have a cool down cycle and if so what part would need to be replaced?

You could check for any wiring shorting to ground at the back of the switch, but this really sounds like the switch will take care of the issue. If it were a shorted heating element or a timer issue, the problem would show itself in other cycles. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, August 20, 2012
