Matt Jag for Model Number A-512 All cycle work except,no drain function.beltsgood , both rplcd, pump spins freely, hose from drum to pump clear, impeller ck’d on pump is not slipping on shaft. No burnt smell at pump, assume pump is good, all cycles work except Drain function. Herd this motor needs to run in reverse for Drain function, as there is no vavle on drain path.would a timer control unit be next item to suspect or motor?
Answer Matt, Yes, the timer WP206230 / 206230 Timer would be the next step in the diagnosis process, The motor does have to change the run direction in order to drain and spin. this is accomplished through the timer circuitry(the timer reverses the polarity to the motor, the motor direction reverses and the washer drains and spins. The drain pump is a non-electrical, belt-driven drain pump, as long as the shaft isn't seized, and the impeller is secured to the shaft the pump is fine. Unfortunately, the timer is no longer available from the manufacturer. The manufacturer no longer sells the part. We can no longer get it from any of our suppliers. There is no substitute for the part available to us and we don't know of any other source for the part. You may want to try contacting local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it. Try eBay, Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturing part number. You can also try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same model or usable part for your machine. Lastly, try to contact refurbishing companies, they may be able to repair or refurbish the timer. Thanks, Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, December 3, 2019
