Aaron I have a MayTag LSE9904ACE Stackable Washer/Dryer. I hear a noticeable whir sound as it goes about washing clothes. It was quiet the 17 years I owned it. The motor seems to run o.k., it does appear easy to jiggle around in it's assembly with my fingers. Is that normal play for the van belt operation? I ordered belts but now I don't think that's the source of the whirring sound. Does the Transmission slowly revolve in a circle as the machine washes clothes? I can stop it by hand but it seems to me the transmission may not be as smooth running anymore and it is rotating because it could be dried up inside? Or worn ? I see no oil or leaks anywhere...Not much else down there in the wash tub area.
Answer Aaron, You will want to check the pump assembly to make sure that there is nothing caught in it. This would be the most likely cause of the noise that you have. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 15, 2014
