Lyle for Model Number Maytag LAT2500 I have a Maytag LAT 2500 that does not spin and the belts slip/burn. How do you check the brake assembly. If I turn in one direction, the agitator turns. If I turn the pulley the opposite direction, it will turn approximately 1/2 to 3/4 turn get stuck, then spring back when you let go of the pulley. Also, does this condition seem to be the brake assembly or the tub bearing? Thank you.
Answer Hello Lyle. Remove the brake from the machine and see if the tub is locked up. If so, you have a bad tub bearing. If not, you may have a bad brake assembly WP6-2011900. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, August 11, 2011
