Vince for Model Number Maytag A612 (Series 2) I was wondering if this transmission can be used as a substitute for the original Maytag transmission? (The original part # for the transmission assembly was 2-3438.) Whirlpool-manufactured Maytag washers of my model went to this "orbital" transmission design, beginning with the series 10 machines. Parts for the original are as rare as hen's teeth.
