Ron for Model Number A506 Washer does not agitate, burning rubber smell. Does spin to evacuate water from tub. Do I have to replace the Trans Dee?
Answer Ron, Most likely, yes. You you conduct the manual test, first. Slide the washer out, raise and block up the front of the washer, remove the drive belts. Grasp the drive pulley on the transmission and turn it in a counterclockwise direction, The Tub should start to spin in 1/2 to 3/4 of a revolution of the pulley. Turn the pulley in a clockwise direction, and the pulley should be relatively easy to turn and your assistant, should see the agitator oscilate. If the the pulley is hard to turn or cannot be turned, That would indicate a gear case issue or top agitator shaft bearing issue. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
