Jay for Model Number Maytag LAT9416aae Hello. My washer was leaking at the tub bearing (could see water coming out under the outer tub when filling with the front panel off). I've replaced the tub bearing (part AP4372971) and tub seal (part AP253016). I've meticulously checked my work 4 times. Now the washer doesn't leak when fills UNTIL the water level gets about 6" high. It appears that the lower seal/bearing are water tight, but when the water gets above the collar where it hits the transmission shaft, it leaks. Do I need to inspect (potentially replace) the rubber seal on the transmission shaft (part AP4026596)? How can I find that seal? Is there something else I should check? Thanks.
Answer Hello Jay. Check and make sure you hooked the pressure hose back up on the side of the outer tub assembly. If not, it will cause the unit to leak like you are describing. If the leak is coming from the transmission, you will need to replace the transmission 6-2097750 in the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, June 11, 2012
