Jim for Model Number Whirlpool Gold Microwave GT4185SKB3 We have a Whirlpool Gold built-in microwave model #GT4185SKB-3. We have not had one single problem in 10 years! Well, yesterday it suddenly stopped working midway through a cycle. Dead. The display is lit and working, but when we press 'start' the interior light comes on and the timer starts to count down BUT the microwave will not run at all. It is silent. What part could this be that has suddenly failed with no warning? Thanks!
Answer Hello Jim. It sounds like the door switch is bad. You will need to test them and see which door switch is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
