Description

This thermocouple is a flame-sensing safety device that detects whether the pilot light is lit on a gas furnace. It generates a small electrical signal that keeps the gas valve open as long as a flame is present. Replace this part if the pilot light won't stay lit, the furnace shuts off unexpectedly, or the gas valve closes immediately after releasing the pilot button.
