Bolens String Trimmer Ignition Controls

This is an ignition coil module assembly found in many string trimmers. Also known as an armature-magneto, the module assembly is responsible for creating current for the ignition system. It does this by sending high voltage pulses the spark plugs. If the ignition coil module assembly starts to go bad, engine performance can drop. It may also require more fuel to use the string trimmer. If the part does not provide sufficient power, the trimmer may not power on.An ignition tester can be used to determine whether the ignition coil module assembly will need to be replaced. If it is damaged or broken and needs to be replaced, make sure to wear work gloves and disconnect the spark plug wire before doing so. The starter assembly will need to be removed from the trimmer.
