Description

This high-voltage capacitor stores and releases energy in the microwave's high-voltage circuit that powers the magnetron. Replacing a failed capacitor can help restore heating performance and reduce humming or breaker trips caused by HV faults. What it does:

• Works with the high-voltage transformer and diode to supply the voltage the magnetron needs for heating
• A weak or shorted capacitor may cause the microwave to run but not heat
• May lead to loud humming/buzzing, a blown internal fuse, or tripped circuit breaker
• Bulging, leaking, or burn marks on the capacitor indicate it should be replaced
