Bosch 00167085 Circulation Pump Repair Kit OEM Part

Used vids on youtube for steps on how to disassemble and install the pump; search "Bosch dishwasher circulation pump replacement". Also on AppliancePartsPro forums, a poster put up the Bosch "Dishwasher Service Training Manual" in .pdf. Search "Bosch dishwasher low pressure" on the forum. It's one of the post with the longest thread. Six pointers. 1. In another forum post, the poster noted that some hoses were brittle with age - and cracked when reinstalling. I had same issue (my washer is ten years old), but forewarned had ordered the two hoses. These are Bosch PN 361113 and 263099 (I have a SHY66C05). You disconnect and reconnect both these when installing the new circulating pump. My 361113 was also brittle and I could not get it reinstalled. Plastic deformed when I tried to reinstall. Swapped for new, which went in like butter. Other hose I did not end up needing. Order these and return if not needed. Other poster had to wait another day to get the needed hose in. Super aggravating to have to wait to reassemble. Wife also will not be happy. 2. On the pump outlet side, there is a one time use hose clamp: this can be reused, but take care not to deform it taking it off. I had slightly damaged mine, reassembled my washer and it leaked from this connection. Then found that my local hardware store did not have narrow clamps, rebent mine to close to original condition, re-installed, and luckily it worked. If I knew that I was going to re-use it, I would have been more careful getting it off. Use two flathead screwdrivers. There's a raised part on the clamp (where a normal clamp would have a screw). Push on this raised part to tighten - to release tension on holding pin. Use other screwdriver to gently pry up on the clamp's lip that's engaging the holding pin. This unfortunately may take three hands - a helper may need to hold the pump assembly while you use the two screwdrivers. 3. There are 10-12 different kinds of screws across the different disassembly steps. Get a muffin pan and use a separate compartment for each set of screws. Or lay out a dozen post-its and put each set of screws on a different post-it. 4. All the screws are T-20 torx. If you don't have a dedicated T-20 torx driver, you may need one. I had a multi-head driver with torx, but the shaft was too fat to fit in the opening to remove the front kick plate support. Caused me to go to hardware store before getting 5 minutes into the disassembly. If you don't have a dedicated T-20 driver, get one before you start the disassembly. 5. Agree with other poster, wear gloves when working with the stainless panels - edges are sharp. 6. Run a couple times before totally reassembling to make sure that there are no leaks. I didn't do a full cycle, buttoned it back up, then had "flood" condition - where drain pump runs continuously even when door is open - because of standing water in the pan. Had to disassemble a second time. Four possible leak locations... going from right to left (while facing front of washer). Circulation pump inlet and outlet (another poster - a bosch repair person said that these are the culprit 7 of 10 times), drain pump, and water supply/management assembly. Each of these four locations have low points on the pan; so get a good flashlight, watch these low points, run the dishwasher a couple times to make sure no leaks (I ran mine twice, then buttoned it back up).

Our Bosch suddenly quit washing the dishes properly after 15 years of faithful service. I observed that there was no pressure coming from the sprayers, and determined it to be the circulating pump. I could reach into the pump from inside the dishwasher and could feel that something was loose in there - the impeller moved when pumping, but I could stop it with my finger. When I took the pump out and disassembled it, the impeller was in two pieces (the front and back pieces that are supposed to be fused together). I also saw that part of the rear pump housing was broken off (the thinnest part where the water enters the pump). I ordered the repair kit and the rear housing and rebuilt the pump. This is not a difficult process - AppliancePartPros has excellent tutorial videos for both the repair kit and replacing the pump. Please note: The wiring colors shown in the video may be different than your model. TAKE PICTURES of all wiring before you disconnect any wiring. Do not follow the video wiring instruction - just document your wiring, disconnect it, and make sure you reconnect it the same way. You will need to disconnect and reconnect the wiring at the same places they show in the video, it's just the colors and terminal positions that may be different. All other instructions in the video are spot on. NOTE: You should probably remove the pump drain cover (which is attached with one screw at the bottom of the pump, just to make sure there are no blockages. This was not my problem, but I did find that the drain was about 60% blocked, and partially by a silicone rubber stick-on foot that had apparently fallen off of a cutting board. CAUTION - When you remove the sump from the bottom of the dishwasher, that stainless lip is VERY SHARP! You can cut yourself badly if not careful. There are sharp metal edges on the stainless parts under the dishwasher, so please use caution. This is not a difficult repair job. Bosch has done an excellent job designing this dishwasher. Every removable screw is a T20 Torx screw, so that is the only bit you'll need. You will need a 2" worm clamp to replace the OEM clamp on the pump - that one has to be pried off and cannot be reused. You will need an adjustable wrench and probably a socket set to disconnect the dishwasher's supply and drain lines, and you will probably need a Philips screwdriver to remove the under-counter screws holding the dishwasher in place. This repair cost about $100, which is way cheaper than buying a new dishwasher. If you are handy around the house, do not be intimidated about doing this yourself. If you can install a ceiling fan, I'd say you can do this repair. Thanks to AppliancePartPros for their help as well. Their online chat is a great service to us DIY'ers.

First... You Guys Are Awesome... I cannot give you a better Qudo than this!! I am Steve, Janet's' husband and the fixer geek around the house.. We had troubles with our Bosch Dishwasher... (not a new one by any chance)... and parts in our City (Denver) were non-existent. So referring to your website.. I found your video on "Repairing the Circulator Pump on a Bosch Dishwasher" and you guys nailed it!! The video took me step by step though the disassembly and repair in the most complete video I think I have ever seen. (and I take trucks apart for a hobby) It showed everything from the removal and disassembly...right down to replacing the parts. We ordered a Circulator Impeller repair kits with the impeller, o-rings, and seals... everything fit just like the old. The old impeller was worn out and separating and simply no long pumping water. The video.... so well done.. took us through the re-assembly.. and the dishwasher runs like new. I ordered the parts... you had them "IN-STOCK and I went ahead and got them overnight... and got my wife's kitchen back in order in no time at all. QUDOS to all on your team. We need more companies like yours that take time to help us Do-it yourselfers out here get things done. Yes... if we had to pay a repair firm that changed $80-$100/hr. it would have been cheaper to replace the dishwasher entirely....as it took me maybe 4 hrs total... and a lot of that was learning curve...but with your video... it was great. Your parts prices were 40% lower than ordering them in town and waiting 5 days... Janet has a dishwasher that will last another 15 years and it cleans fantastic again. I could see that the circulation pump was running, but no water was spraying. I ordered the repair kit and followed the video I found on YouTube carefully. I am generally pretty handy and this was a moderate job, it wasn't too hard at all; it just took a long time because you really have to almost completely disassemble the dishwasher. The only problem I had was that the plastic fill tube/hose was so brittle that it cracked when I removed it as part of the disassembly. When I reassembled the dishwasher it leaked. So I had to wait an extra day for that replacement hose to arrive before I could button everything up and use the washer.

The impeller seemed the likely failure so I Googled my product number and found videos on how to access the impeller. I disassembled the dishwasher before ordering any parts in case other parts failed during the process as the dishwasher is 10+ years old. The impeller is a two piece construction and it had separated inside its housing. I ordered the repair kit for my model on Monday and it arrived Tuesday morning. Back washing dishes that afternoon.
