Henry S New York , NY September 29, 2019 Appliance: Model BOSCH WAS24460UCAXXIS Repetitive electric door latch switch failure no machine start After years of replacing the female electric latch switch that controlled the operation of the machine, I discovered that the window/door's handle's connection to its male latching hook had failed. The two were no longer interconnected. Also, the window/door's frame and hinge were materially "fatigued" meaning the hinge/body assembly was allowing the window/door to sag - causing the misaligned door/window to machine body electric latch switch to break when the window/door was closed. Gaining access to the set screws of the window/door hinge was especially difficult as the washing machine was installed in a closet and the window/door would not open fully to allow access. I had to remove the machine from the closet to fully open the door to access the hinge mounting screws. Finally, I needed a special tool, a #2 Square Recess Screwdriver, 8-Inch Shank Klein Tool to work the mounting screws. Discovering the door/window handle's broken connection to the window/door's male latch took months, accessing the hinge screws two days as I had to order the Square Recess tool to remove the screws.
