Description

This insulating plate serves as the microwave's waveguide cover. It shields the waveguide opening from steam and splatter while allowing energy to enter the cavity, helping prevent arcing and protecting internal components and cavity surfaces.

• Shields the waveguide/magnetron opening from grease and moisture
• Electrically insulates the feed area to reduce arcing
• Helps maintain proper microwave energy distribution into the cavity
• Common signs of failure: sparking from the side wall, burn marks on the cover, sizzling/burning odor during cooking, or a visibly cracked/charred plate
