Bruce H Carmel , CA June 20, 2017 Appliance: Bosch Washer WFL2060UC/22 Water leaking under bosch axxis washer The leak under my Bosch Axxis washer (6 or 7 years old) was small but problematic and I finally decided to see what was causing it. I tipped it over to a comfortable working position and removed the bottom of the washer. There would have been other ways to access this area but this was done mainly to diagnose the problem, I didn't think I'd have a chance to repair it. Once the bottom was off the source of the leak was not obvious. A flashlight revealed nothing unusual. It wasn't until I reached my hand around the back side of the sump hose that I felt the hole in the hose. It was on the "bellows" portion of the rubber hose, a smaller sharp edged hole had formed. I'm still not sure of the cause, it's not close enough to the drum to rub into it but that's what it looked like. A few months earlier I had removed a coin that had been caught in the filter so that's a possible cause.. not really sure. So it was a weekend- I had the washer apart and no spare parts on hand and plenty of laundry to do. I had some JB weld epoxy putty made for plastics and thought I'd try it until I could get the part from ApplianceParts Pros. I first sealed up the hole with rubber cement and let it set for a few minutes then mixed up the putty and covered the area after cleaning the rubber and scuffing it with 80 grit sandpaper. The adhesion was good and after a few hours the epoxy was set. The next day I put the old part back in. No leaks. So a good short term fix, the new part is here and this weekend I'll install it and things should be back to normal. The part was easy to find on the website and was shipped out the day I ordered it. It's not a difficult part to replace and if I had to do it again I'd still use the approach from under the washer. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros.
