John C Stone Mountain , GA November 17, 2014 Appliance: Model HONEYWELL HZ617 Faulty control switch Replaced it with the 4 position switch..The original switch was a 3 position switch..By replacing it with a 4 position switch, I now have a bit more control of the heater, to the extent that it is now more quiet in the low mode than before. The only issue I had, was the stem which was slotted, while my stem was a "D" type stem. So I did a little filing and cutting until I got a perfect tight fit on the knob..The unit, now functions perfect, IMHO. I couldn't locate the rotary switch anywhere online until I ran across Appliance Parts.com. They had the exact part and shipped it out the same day. It even arrived 1 day early.
