Randall G Victoria , TX December 16, 2018 Appliance: Model NUTONE 665RP The blower heater no longer worked due to a poor engineering design at the thermal switch where the power lead connects This connection is made up with only a rivet. With short time the connection will heat up aging the connection and causing a hot spot. It deteriorated the thermal connection and broke the terminal lead due to overheat conditions of the AC current through this switch. I do not believe soldier would have held very long. I used one of the 2 screws in the old heater assembly and drilled out the rivet to where the less than 3/32 screw with slide in and bolted it together to make a sound electrical connection. The heater before the switch failed was opening due to overheat at the connection and causing the fan and heater to be inoperable. I bought a new blower heater fan and replaced the heater with the new model temporarily until I could fix this heater with the new heater element assembly. My wife most definitely did not like the temporary new heated blower assemble because it was very loud and could be heard all the way into the kitchen. The old model I repaired is very quiet and works great. The new design is good but need much quieter motor fan assembly. Read More...
