This hubcap is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on log splitter and chipper wheels. The hubcap covers the central opening of the wheel assembly. This prevents dirt and debris from getting into the wheel assembly. If the hubcap comes off during use or is lost when replacing tires, a new one should be installed. The machine will work without a hubcap; however, the interior wheel assembly will be open to flying debris and could be damaged if rocks or large limbs go into the wheel assembly. During routine inspection and maintenance, the hub caps should be checked for damage and to make sure they are in place.The hubcap is easily removed and replaced with a screwdriver needed to pry the old hubcap off if it is still on the machine. The new hubcap simply snaps into place. This hubcap is made of high-quality metal and is sold individually. This hubcap is designed to be used with log splitters and chippers manufactured by MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy Bilt, Husky, and Yard-Man.
