Purchased a new handle which has a new part number. Wonder if that means the part has been improved... I removed the 3 screws retaining the handle and pried it out. I installed the new handle by fitting the top side all the way in, and then snapping the bottom side in. I would recommend a dab of grease on each of the ramps that snap over the edge to ease installation. Others mentioned removing the outer cover. For me that looked like extra work, but might prevent breakage. The handle deformed significantly before snapping into place the way I did it. Requires only a torx /star driver either way.
