My Thermador microwave was built in with custom cabinets and the 24” size was no longer available. I could not find a replacement of any make that would fit correctly so my only option was to repair the 12 years old unit. The repair facility recommended by Thermador quoted $1400 to replace the magnetron and control panel holding the transformer. I purchased a new magnetron and after installation the microwave works as good as new. Replacing the magnetron was an easy job requiring only screwdrivers and a star driver for two security screws. The hard part was removing the unit from the built in cabinet. It was such a job I decided to replace the 12 year old light bulb at the same time so I wouldn’t have to remove it again. I called Appliance Parts Pros on Sunday afternoon and spoke with Kayla who helped me add the light bulb to the magnetron order which I had placed online Saturday. It was great to find a company who has such knowledgeable employees in customer service who are can be reached quickly even over the weekend. 5 STARS to Kayla and Appliance Parts Pros.
