How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP2142636 / 5303281135 Dryer Flame Sensor

My gas dryer is an older White-Westinghouse stack appliance, a DG250K. In the past I had done nothing more than change the belt on one occasion. The start button failed to start the motor on some occasions but then would mysteriously work again. Finally it failed to ever start. I changed the motor and the belt. The dryer started again with the new motor, but it would not heat. I researched the dryer parts and purchased the coil set, the igniter, and the flame sensor. After installing the coils and checking my connections, the burner started. I decided to install the new flame sensor also, and I wanted to install a new igniter. When I carefully unwrapped the bubble wrap on that delicate igniter, I found it lost a piece in the bubble wrap. I tapped the remainder on my glass table to see if it would break further, but it did not. I suspect it may have been cracked before I received it, so I was relieved to see my original igniter was working. My old W-W will probably run another 25 years. Changing the burner parts was very easy, and the videos were very helpful. Changing the motor took more time and was more difficult since the straps that hold the motor are very tight and are hard to remove and to replace on the new motor. I am glad that I did not resort to a repair technician. This site is the best that I have ever seen! 

Popped the top, removed two screws and lifted off the front panel. Quickly located the three worn parts. Two screws and they were replaced. Closed it up, fired it and it worked like new. Total time 20 to 30 minutes. 

I replaced the dryer gas valve coil kit based on the higher probability this was the cause and while I was at it I also replaced the heat sensor. I am still waiting on Frigidaire to give me a replacement model for a new dryer that would stack on my washer if I couldn't repair dryer. The parts were easy to replace based on your videos, thanks again you saved me a lot by doing it myself. 

Replaced the sensor and coils and...it works!!! 

Replaced the gas valve coils. 

Replaced the parts purchased and everything is working fine. 

Basically rebuilt the burner system by changing the igniter, valve coils and heat sensor. 

We replaced the Heat Sensor. 

With a little help from the person, I spoke to on the phone from ApliancePartsPros. We came up with a parts list. The parts came super fast and the next thing I know is the dryer was working like new again with 2 hours of labor with the help of my wife. 

The great thing about old generation tech is it is easy to fix. No electronics getting in the way. Our dryer's gas heater would stop after 10 mins. It could only be caused by a few sensors thinking there was a problem and turning off the heat. Swapped out $5 worth of parts that cost $150 but whatever:- Heat is back, my wife is happy and I look like the hero. Job done.
