Victor P Lakeland , FL December 11, 2015 Clothes taking too long to dry ge dryer Unclogged all lint/debris in dryer. Noticed the air on the outside vent wasn't blowing all that well. Replaced blower fan. The one I took out was worn out and was the cause of a squeeking noise that I heard when the dryer ran. Once I replaced the blower fan the dryer worked like a charm. Douglas H Lake Alfred , FL May 07, 2019 Appliance: Model DWSR483EB2WW Noisy operation The blower fan blade is held on the motor shaft with a two piece clamp that over time weakens and loses its grip allowing the fan blade to slide out on the shaft and rub against the metal mounting plate. I had over the last 15 years repositioned the blade several times. Each time my repair would work for a shorter time. Using your video guidance I was able to pull the motor and blower assembly out of the dryer and replace the fan. The old fan had worn the flat spot on the blade to where it no longer stabilized the blade on the shaft. I highly recommend taking pictures of all the wiring attached to the motor prior to the disassembly. While I had everything apart it was easy to replace the front drum bearings which were worn. I also replaced the front bearing support because one of the bearing locking tabs had broken off during a previous repair. I had searched several web sites before I discovered yours which was the first one that even recognised my model number. Parts delivery was outstanding. I highly recommend you to all of my friends and family. Thank you. Corey W Wyandotte , MI December 21, 2025 My fan wheel was super loud/clothes were not drying I took it apart once using the videos I found online which were very informative and easy to follow. I merely put it back together with the old materials and I didn’t even notice the clip brackets that clamp the wheel to the motor shaft were worn. It worked perfectly for about a week or two then it started failing again. I payed a little more attention to the video and seen the error in my assessment. I quickly ordered the new wheel and clamp brackets and had it fixed the very next day. I payed for next day shipping and it was worth it as I still had wet clothes in the drum of the dryer. Charles B Smyrna , DE May 30, 2021 Dryer was very noisey. I took it apart and inspected the problem.... I found the blower blade was flopping the lock clamp was broken in half.... and the drive belt was cracked and about to break. I ordered all the parts from appliance parts pros and went for the speedy shipping.... The parts were supposed to arrive Weds. but did not get here until Thursday. I cleaned and inspected the whole dryer and put it all back together in about 2 hours.... I found I could see things better with the rear access removed and also found taping the belt to the drum I could put it back together by myself. All the parts were genuine GE and even with the s/h came out cheaper than buying locally. I did try to buy locally but the dealer did not have all the parts and estimated it would take a week to get them. I was able to order all 3 parts and got them a day late but in only 2 days time. The Dryer is purring nicely and the wife is happy once again. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
