How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6037511 / WE18X25100 Lint Filter Assembly

Replaced it. 

I called customer service to try to figure out why I received the part I did to replace the lint trap on my dryer. I actually ordered the correct part, but the package was mislabeled at the facility. Once we figured out that the part number sent to me was incorrectly, the correct item is being sent to me. The representative was wonderful!! 

Simply we replaced it with a new one. 

I replaced the slides and the main front support. I changed the rear support and belt for good measure. 

About as easy as it gets. Parts fit perfect. 

BOUGHT A NEW LINT FILTER AND JUST SLID IT RIGHT IN. WORKS PERFECTLY AND ALSO FOR $30 IT MAKES THE DRYER LOOK BRAND NEW. 

Just put the new one in. 

After watching your videos on replacing the trap duct, rear bearing sleeve, bearing slides and upper front bearing support the dryer is like new again. I will say the videos were a tremendous help and confidence boost. They were spot on and I really didn’t come across issues. In fact if you have any mechanical abilities it was pretty easy. Turns out the smells were years of lint buildup in the drum back vent and also in the trap duct. A good cleaning and replacing the bad trap duct assembly and no more smells. 

I received a new lint catcher that fit perfectly. I was so surprised I finally found what I needed. Thank you very much. 

Replaced drum rear bearing, front bearing strips. Once apart I found upper drum support worn thru to point bearing strips would not stay on. So I placed another order. I also replaced the drum belt and idler pulley, since everything was apart. Also changed out all felt seals as they were falling apart when touched. Finished reassembly yesterday and everything works perfectly and silently. Thank You AppliancePartsPros.com.
