How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5325101 / 6615JB2005R Refrigerator Control Assembly

I ordered the heating coil and all the sensors. It did not take long to fix and is working great now. The cord for the sensors was too short so I spliced it and made it work. 

Replaced the thermistor assembly. Unfortunately the first one I bought (from another site) had the wrong connector. The one I got from this site had the right connector, but the leads are somewhat shorter. It appears to be working, but I won't know for sure until a few months down the line when I can tell if the defrost cycle is working properly. This thermistor is used partially to determine if the coil has reached 40 degrees F meaning that ice melting is occurring and the coil and surrounding ducts are kept from blocking up with ice. Kind of annoying that I can't find a dead on replacement, but in both cases the thermistors seemed to be identical and gave similar measurements of resistance, so it should work OK. 

Replaced the Evap Fan, Refrig Control, and the Temperature Sensor. 

Replaced heating element and defrost control. 

Ice was building up on the freezer back panel and the fan was making a loud noise. Pulled the panel off to see the evaporator coils covered in ice, which was coming into contact with the fan blades. I replaced the heater and defrost control sensor. 

Temp sensor and heating element both checked out good, heating element fuse was bad. Found this site with part in stock and it arrived the next day. Worst part was defrosting the evaporator since it hadn’t been defrosting for a while. 

Cut the power off, removed the food from the shelves and drawers. Melted the ice and removed the cover. Troubleshoot the defrost sensor and found it open. Order the part then came back to replace it. 

Ordered new sensor, installed new one.
