I turned the breaker off then used a spatula to carefully lift the edge of the switch cover & push in on the tab until it popped out. I unplugged the old switch, plugged in the new one, & placed it back in the opening. So simple. Took about 5 minutes for this 72 year young woman! Read More... I watched the video, pried it out with a pair of pliers, melted the ice in the same slot by using my finger repeatedly dipped in warm water then reinstalled the new switch. It WORKS! I found the replacement part and bought a rigid plastic spatula as other's recommended so as not to scratch the refrigerator. The old switch came out easy but I couldn't get the wired part to separate from the switch. I finally broke the old switch a part and used needle nose pliers to pull the metal plates out of the wired part. I ordered a new switch for the refrigerator door that controls the lights inside the fridge. I took the old one out with a knife, then a screwdriver to finish prying the old switch out. Then plugged the new one into the existing plug from the original switch and snapped the new one back into place. Piece of cake Read More...
