How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4442090 / 6600JB1010A Refrigerator Door Switch

I used the video on this site to diagnose my problem and how to fix it. It covered my model. IT was great. It also fixed to ice maker that stopped working too.It showed how to pop out the old and replace the new one. I was shipped the correct part faster than expected.I was a little aprehensive at first but it went very well. Thanks for saving me lots of money! 

I ordered the part and my husband had it fixed within 5 to 10 minutes without video. It is absolutely awesome, actually a god sent to have a light again. Using a flashlight got really really OLD.

It was simple, I just followed the instructions and it worked like a charm. I still can't believe how easy it was. 

Was able to get the old switch out after 2-3 minutes. Made the mistake of asking a handy man to help me who promptly cut one of the wires before I was able to stop him. Fortunately he was able to splice a piece of wire from the inside wiring and the plastic piece with the 4 wires. All went well after that -- was easy to put the new switch into the frame of the refrigerator.

Ordered new switch, took out old one, and replaced it. 

I ordered a replacement part on line using the model number on the dishwasher. Although the parts looked different, (original was all plastic, replacement was metal & plastic) with the help of the on line video, the repair was successful. The Refrigerator switch was identical and very easy to install.
