How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008377 / WP3400012 Screw

Perfection!! Parts were exactly what I needed. The accompanying video helped greatly. Door closes correctly now. 

Replace cam in bottom of door. 

Originally I assumed it was the seal. I am renting and this appliance was already here. I bought a new seal without considering the door might be unbalanced or uneven. The seal didn't work. $125 lesson learned. Still perplexed, I did some more research and happened upon an article mentioning the ‘cam”. I looked at the freezer door and noticed a cam in the freezer door AND the refrigerator cabinet. I checked the refrigerator door and noticed there was no cam on the refrigerator door... I immediately ordered the parts and as soon as I installed them, YAHTZEE!!. Good seal and cooler frig! Probably didn’t need the screws but I’m glad I changed them. 

Checked online for refrigerator repair parts. AppliancePartsPros.com website was very easy to access and immediately offered a search by model without searching. The site offered frequently needed parts with the prices. The outstanding feature is the utube type video of the actual part being installed by a clear speaking helpful technician. The video help, parts list and well designed website combined to allow for one visit to site. I did call the 800 number for help with what parts he suggested to make sure I had the needed items. Four parts and $24,including FedEx to USPS and I had the parts in five days. Installation was helped totally by the video. Outstanding service, prices, availability, knowledgeable assistance, accurate billing and timely delivery. First class in all. 

Removed door, replaced part, All Good now. 

Replacing the lower cam. The how to videos helped tremendously. Not a difficult repair but every point of view helps. 

Door is easily removed by unscrewing the hinge cover on the top (1 screw), removing the top hinge (3 screws), removing the refrigerator door, removing the two lower door cams (1 screw each) and replacing them with new cams and screws. The door was easily hung back on and now operates like new. 

Changed the upper and lower plastic cams at bottom hinge.
