How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023698 / WPW10670845 Refrigerator Ice Bucket

L ordered the part & it arrived in days. I watched the video on how to attach it. It took about 10 minutes to do. ( would have been faster if l had correct tools. Easy-peazy! 

Ordered and replace the ice bucket 

Replaced with taking a few screws out. Real easy fix. 

This was an easy fix. Watched the repair video and followed the instructions. I elaborated a little by screwing the box in lightly with the auger assembly before marking the third hole (see video for details) to make sure everything was lined up correctly. Then removed the screws and drilled the hole. I used a slightly smaller drill bit, since I had a large set of bits and selected one where the shank of the bit would just fit in the hole. The video suggests a larger bit, but that's not really a problem. 

Ordered the ice container, pulled out the old one, unscrew all the screws, detach the old container and attached the new container and that fixed the problem. It was pretty easy to replaced. Just keep an eye out on how you remove the spring mechanism part, other than that, easy peasy. 

Pulled out the old am door put in the new one you sent me. Easy fix. 

Ordered the correct part and was able to use the tutorials to help install it. 

Wasn't that hard, just used part I replaced and observed old part. Handful of screws had to be loosened and duplicated what I saw. 

I called with number of tray they looked it up shipped it that day, received the next morning installed tray with 8 screws put back in refrigerator and within 24 hours of break I had the correct piece & was working . Great & courteous service 

Used a small nut driver (3/16??) to unscrew the few screws that held the auger assembly in place in the old/damaged ice bin (metal corkscrew-looking thingy that advances ice forward from bin into dispenser). You could use any flat head screwdriver also. Transferred auger assembly into the new replacement bin, and screwed it in place. Double checked the repair video to make sure I positioned the one small spring correctly, finished tightening agitator into new bin. Put new bin into place in freezer - making sure it's seated correctly. Voila! No more ice cubes falling down into the freezer! Repair was quick, easy, straightforward. And now my housemates think I'm the handiest person ever. ;)
