How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008273 / WP3387223 Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar

Replaced both moisture sensor bars Using online repair video. Excellent support by Appliance Parts Pros. 

I had already cleaned my vent out well from dryer to outside. But what I had not done was to unplug the unit and inspect inside the dryer. Remove the dryer vent duct and all around the drum, pulley, heater duct, and surrounding area. This should be a wakeup call to all those who have never done this. How the unit has never caught on fire is amazing. The design of the dryer is surprising as to how the heater coils are so open to all the lint that builds up inside the unit. Owner beware inspect inside your dryer today! I replaced my moisture sensor while I was at it. 

Replaced the thermostat sensor on the heater element cover. 

Using the DIY videos, the parts that were quickly ordered and received, I replaced the moisture sensors, the thermistor and cleaned out the blower housing which was 75% blocked with built-up lint. I replaced the blower housing foam seal to assure a proper seal. Also cleaned the ductwork to assure proper airflow. Now works like it should with one drying cycle. 

2007 Whirlpool Duet dryer GEW9250PW0. Dyer would shut off early during auto moisture sensing mode - clothes would be wet still. Bought and replaced both of the moisture sensor bars. Followed the video replacement instructions on this website. Easy !!!! Problem SOLVED! Thanks !!!!! 

Once I replaced the heat sensors the problem was solved. It works just like new. 

So, the dryer would stop way too early in the cycle. I could put it on timed dry and sometimes it would actually finish a cycle. Other times it wouldn't make it more than 15 minutes and stop. I did a little research and found the problem was the sensor strips. I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com and received them within three days. (Remember they are sold individually. Buy two). After that, a screwdriver and a pair of pliers (to remove the wires, they were stuck). 15 minutes and she was running like a champ again. 

Researched most likely parts and installed them all except the ignitor, because the gas would initially ignite, but kept the ignitor since I have had to replace that part in the past. 

Lint grille broke after 14 years of service, mostly some threads stuck into it and it got pulled. Just punched model number into the website. Found right grill, moisture sensors and wire harness. Video instructions were very accurate. Parts showed up at door in less than 24 hours.(even though I chose standard service). Took under 30 minutes to do all the work. Dryer was up and running with no issues. Very happy with this overall experience. 

Watch the video that is with the belt when you purchase it. You do need to take apart the whole front and top of the dryer to loop the new belt around the drum so it does take some work. Installed the new belt, reassembled the dryer step by step and it is back on line.
