How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008273 / WP3387223 Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar

Repair was fairly simple but video assured me that I was doing it correctly. 

I ordered parts from ApplianceParts. My mistake was not noting the diagram indicated the repair required 2 sensors, but the packaged part contained only 1 sensor. I will re-order the second sensor. If possible, maybe adding a note that packaged part is shown separately, but multiple parts are required to complete the repair. Thank you, George Nies 

Purchased the dryer repair kit which contains the 4 rollers, retaining clips, tension roller, and belt. Easy fix, and now the machine works like new. I also replaced the moisture sensor bars since the auto dry was not reliable. Now it works perfect. 

Replaced. Thrmst Fix, electrode and heating element. I believe it should be a kit. Should be for older appliance. 

Replaced sensor bars with assistance from video. 

I replaced the sensor in the door. 

I tipped the washer over and found the leak was from a small hole in the discharge hose. I ordered the part, watched the video for replacing the hose, and later did it myself in about 15 minutes. The dryer was challenging because everything worked but not through the whole cycle. I decided to order one each of the two thermal sensors that could be the cause before spending a lot of money on a new control board. The repair video gave me the confidence to do the work because it involved a total disassembly of the whole dryer. It turned out much easier than I thought and the parts were a cinch to replace. When I put it all together everything work properly. It took a lot more time to clean out the lint that was in the dryer than replacing the parts. 

Replaced filter and sensors in dryer, very easy fix. Oven needs help in removing from wall but anticipate it also being and easy fix 

I replaced the thermister and one of the elements as well as cleaned up everything I could by washing with soap and water and shop vac. Seems to be working well now. 

Replaced thermistor and moisture sensor strips, which didn't help. Finally used level to slightly tilt dryer towards moisture sensor strips (front of dryer) Dryer was originally level now slightly not level with downward slope towards front of dyer. This helped by increasing the number of time items in a small load contacted the sensor strips.
