How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010824 / WP74003019 Oven Bake Element

I found the exact part I needed, watched the repair video and waited for my part to arrive. It only took 2 days to get here. I used a philips head screw driver and a needle nose pliers. The total time it took was about 15 minutes start to finish and I have already used my oven a few times. I am so happy that I didn't need to pay a repair man for something so simple! I am a woman in my 40's and had no problem doing this myself. Other sites had my part listed for over $50 and this site had it for less than half that price. 

Myself, followed in installation instructions to remove and connect element. Just unscrewed the 2 screws and pulled off connections, then attached the new element and screwed back in 

Replaced the burner its working great 

Unplugged the oven, Removed the back panel, disconnected the connectors - undid the screws on the inside of the oven, pulled out old bake element. Slid the new one in place, but back in the screws - attached the connectors, but back on the back panel. Plugged the oven back in. Turned it on. Cooked a pizza for my girls. 

I replaced the gasket and now have a heating element on hand when the other one fails. 

Unplugged stove. Removed oven door by lifting it of the hinges. Removed two screws holding defective element to back of oven from inside oven. Removed back panel to expose wires attached to defective element. Removed wires from element and then removed e.element from inside oven. inserted new element into holes at back of oven and replaced holding screws. Attached wires to element at back of stove and replaced back panel. 

Ordered the replacement part and installed it. The part arrived three days after I ordered it. I watched the video on how to change out the element and didn't have any trouble replacing the broken element. 

So simple, two philips head screws at back of the oven, pull out the element to expose the two spade connectors for the electrical, reverse assembly, put the two oven grates back in and test. 15 minutes total time. 

Ordered lower element, unplugged the stove, loosened 2 screws pulled element out, put new element in.plugged in stove.
