Looked at replacing 42-year old Jenn-air double oven (top oven wouldn't heat any more) but thought, what the heck, replace 2 elements for $150, or replace the whole thing for $2000... Took the cheap route, spent 20 minutes installing new elements, and now the oven works like a charm. (Still LOOKS like a 42-year old oven, but it bakes and broils perfectly, and that is all I care about.)
As others have warned, be sure to secure element wires with something so they don't slip back into the backside of the oven! I wrapped mine with electrical tape and taped them down until connecting to new element. Reconnecting wires was
