How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4299836 / 8206229A Grease Filter

Vent had corroded at the screws from years of use. Found the original part here. Ordered a black one since it was half the cost of the silver one. Also ordered new filters. Price was somewhat comparable to other sites or better but charges shipping. All parts did come at once the next day! Lucky me I guess we are near a warehouse. Parts fit fine and now the microwave looks good again. 

We purchased a replacement door. It came within a week of ordering and took less than 10 minutes to switch them. 

I googled the part, and found your website had the parts that I needed. The order process was easy, and the product arrived 3 days later as promised. 

Unplug power, took bottom off microwave, unhooked wire and removed bulb holder, put it back together, put new bulb in. Also replaced grease filters. Because of the detailed picture of the bulb holder I was able to be sure I had gotten the correct part, I was able to see the numbers written on the part that matched the one I had. 

I replaced the filters. 

Removed vent deflector from front of microwave, changed charcoal filter; manually removed grease filters from bottom of microwave and replaced with new ones. Replaced oven light bulb manually. 

Slipped them each right into the appropriate spaces under the microwave. 

Watched your online videos and got comfortable with what to do, ordered parts and did the fairly elementary work. 

They fit the same as the previous ones did! 

Grill Vent 100% fit and finish perfect. Replaced the SS colored plastic with black and it looks better. Filters were exact fit as well. Doing this reminded me "we all need to clean our microwaves better" Thanks.
