How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010569 / WP686711 Handle, Door (White)

With the help of Michaela, she was able to find the correct little knob for my washer/dryer. The response time was within an hour. The delivery time was promised in 10 days. It arrived the following day. The whole process was less than 24 hours from start to finish. All great service for just $10 worth of parts. Wonderful people and company! 

I looked at a video on YouTube and followed the instructions. 

Replaced ignitor with a new one. Should have tested old one before installing. New one did not work either. Traced problem back to defective thermo fuse by testing with a multimeter and found circuit open. Bought a new fuse and replaced. Ignitor cycling as designed now. Apparently fuse failed due to excessive heat. I will also replaced dryer vent hose and and clean out vent line. 

Bought a new snap-in replacement.

As simple as it was to fix was amazing. It may not seem like much until you do not have a door handle. It sure did making using the dryer door very easy.
