How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013307 / WP8563965 Lid Hinge

Watched a YouTube video. 

Disassembled lid, removed hinge springs, drove the broken hinge piece out with a punch (after soaking with penetrating oil). Replaced the lid and installed new hinges. Not difficult but time consuming. 

Be sure to buy all the parts for both sides. I replaced the lid and the left side hardware earlier this year and 6 months later the other side seized, cracking my new lid. This time I replaced all the hardware on both sides. I hope to get another 5 years out of this machine.

Replaced hinges and glass lid. Used the video provided on AppliancePartsPros.com - very easy to understand and perform. It was a little tricky getting the lid to slide onto the hinges but two pairs of hands made it much easier 

I went to YouTube and looked up the lid problem and it suggested changing the two hinge pins. To be able to lift off the lid, I had to remove two screws on each side…A torx #15 screwdriver is needed and then the lid was easily lifted off. I took out old pins, and replaced them with your parts…the pins are unique to each side ….the most difficult part of the job was lining up slots in the lid to drop over pins.
