How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005818 / WP213015 Injector Nozzle (Washer)

I suggested that I be allowed to find the trouble which she agreed to. I opened it, flipped the fill switch and found the leak to be at the top rear left side of the machine. It looked to be some kind of injection valve. When opened, it looked to be a short rubber tube with a plastic gadget inside. Research on my computer showed that the rubber inlet valve may be the cause. I ordered the part from APP. It was delivered Wednesday but I ordered the nozzle. I ordered the rubber valve for sure this time and it came Friday. Within twenty minutes, I had it installed and tested. It worked perfectly. It took me another hour to re-install the face of the machine, but it is done and is a good repair. I felt good because it was a good tangible work project. Ten days ago, I installed a replacement garage door opener by myself. I am a fix-it man. Basil Indermill 9/6/2014 

First the parts showed up as promised in 2 days. Injector fill hose wasn't leaking but replaced to be on safe side. Everything went together just like OEM parts. Cost less then having my appliance guy just walk thru the door at $80.00 

Replaced the Injector valve, nozzle and sleeve-in using new hose clamps 

Took off front and cover, saw where it was leaking and ordered parts. simple repair. 

The most difficult thing to do was to open the washer to determine where the leak was coming from. Luckily for me... I remembered how to remove the front panel from my job as an Appliance Salesman ( 20 years ago). I had no clue what parts to order and where to get the parts from. Goggle to the rescue!! I spoke to a sales rep who guided me and helped me downloaded the schematics and identified the parts to be replaced. Got the parts (substitute ) in 4 days and replaced the parts in less than 10 mins. The machine is good as NEW!! 

Your site advised me that my leak was simply due to a worn injector valve, so I undid one hose clamp, replaced it (and spindle), and completely solved the leak myself. This was after having an official Maytag repair man say my machine was fine (even though it still leaked after his visit). I have asked to get that $115 back from his company. Meanwhile, the $35 I spent on parts from you ended up saving us from replacing the machine. Nice web site! Thank you! 

I cannot believe this machine still runs. APP has sold me repair parts for this unit now 3 times. First I wanted to replace the old belts. They still worked but was more a preventative thing. Next was a water control valve a few years ago. This time I noticed a leak near the valve again. I decided to buy a new valve and also replace all the rubber hoses that were 35 years old. The repair took about 3 hours. 1.5 to remove the old parts and do a cleaning that was greatly needed. 0.5 hours to find the part numbers and place the order. APP got me my parts with standard shipping in 3 days which was okay as I was going to repair them over the following weekend. Parts came and all went together easily. It took 1 hour to reassemble and check for leaks. All is good and the unit looks new except for not looking modern. I did find that the old valve was fine so I am keeping it as a spare. The valve was expensive but the repair cost was a lot cheaper than calling a repair person and I learned stuff to boot. 

Removed the old parts and replaced them with the new ones from AppliancePartsPros. NO MORE LEAKS! 

Replaced two little pieces, injector valve and sleeve-in. Found youtube videos that showed it all. 

Replaced injector valve and nozzle. While I was getting these two items, I order the two belts for the machine. Parts came in very quickly and repair took only about 15 minutes. Thank you.
