Our 20 years Whirlpool ED25DQXDW00 had interior light, but wasn’t not cold; the compressor was not working. Checked the resistance on the compressor and its value were 2.45, 3.5 and 6 ohms, then the compressor was fine. Shaking the relay and heard the noise means the relay was defective. Ordered part from AppliancePartsPro.com and it was delivery two days later. Installed and it didn’t working, same as before. Rechecked and found out that the connector installed incorrectly.
Re-connect as: hot wire (red) to common, neutral wire (white) to run and blue capacitor wire to start. Form triangle as: red to blue = 2.5 ohms, this is the start. Red to white is 3.5 ohms, this is the run. Reference: white to blue = 6 ohms for checking only (2.5 + 3.5 =/~ 6). There is no polarity at the compressor, so the only way is checking it resistance for the connection, that what I did. You should take the picture first before remove the connector, it save time and I forgot taking the picture before removed the connector, but it was learning experience. It worked great since. I hope it helps other by reading this….Thank you.
