How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006720 / WP2223357 Meat Pan Cover

It's just a simple issue to remove broken unit and replace with new unit.

Easily! Not sure how they broke off but we found them during the routine cleaning of the refrigerator. Just remove and replace. No tools are necessary! 

Purchased part 

Tried a quick-set epoxy. Let it sit for a couple of hours and reinstalled the pan cover. My wife broke the glued part. Looked at the schematic for the Kitchenaide refrigerator, picked out the appropriate part, checked the compatibility (Whirlpool vs Kitchenaide) and ordered it. Received it two days later and installed it. 

The video was fabulous... used wood to prop UP the door (with shims to hold it tight)... couple of 5/16" bolts. One thing... when you pull the lower hinge part off... leave the lower black plastic piece in place. It looks a LOT like the door cam, but it is not... its what the door cam rides on. While I was ordering that part, the meat pan cover had cracked and lost one wheel... so we just fixed that while we were ordering (it worked OK without one of the rollers... but might as well get it back to new). 

I ordered the part. It can in two days. Installed it in 5 minutes. Done. 

Replaced meat pan cover as demonstrated in your web tutorial. Excellent price ($30 less incl. shipping) than ordering directly from Kitchenaid. The web demonstration was complete and accurate, too. 

The video on line helped 90% BUT my refreigerator had a small screw attcahed to teh left wall. I had to use a phillips head to get it removed. Then everything fell into place. I taped over teh hole from teh screw because the NEW frame did not have this feature but worked perfectly.
