How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006310 / WP22002754 Lid Switch Plunger

Installed new cam, replaced plunger and guide tube. Still didn't engage the switch. Then I noticed the lid was dented and bent downward. I punched it back into shape and everything lined up perfectly. Works like a charm. 

Replaced lid safety switch, actuator and plunger. 

Look for your specific washer on how to remove top to access the screw and Very easy fix. 

Installed new guide tube to replace broken one. 

Replaced plastic plunger switch behind back of lid by popping lid off front retainer clips and lifting it up from the front. Then removed two screws and relaxed plunger switch and realigned base contact with plunger 

This was a easy fix with replacing the lid cam went ahead and replaced the other two parts although not needed - my thinking is that they are newer and it will last a little longer with new parts 

Ordered all parts required from Appliance Pro. Received them in 4 days via Fed-ex. Reassemble and it operated like a champ. Found Appliance Pro by searching online and glad I found the. Worked with a gentleman named Dustin who located all the parts I wanted. Parts price reasonable and happy everything came together. Saved me a service fee from a repair person. Thanks AP!
