How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005191 / WP10097202 Compressor Start Relay (Ptc)

I was surprised I received the part in one day, next day installed it and it works fine.

Went to a competitor's site to troubleshoot problem and purchased the part recommended - run capicitor. Part arrived 6 days later. Part did not resemble original and did not fix problem. Went back to site and ordered a different part that was recommended when first option did not solve problem - run capicitor with compressor rela Part arrived 4 days later after paying for faster delivery. Part was completely different from original and also completely unlike part shown in video. Sent everything back to competitor and went to AppliancePartsPros.com. Found exact part matching original - compressor relay. Ordered on Wednesday evening, part arrived Friday AM. Took less than 10 minutes to replace - refrigerator and freezer began cooling immediately. Spent less than $65 - $15 of which was shipping costs returning competitors parts that didn't work. AppliancePartsPro.com is now my go to. 

I put the new overload switch on the compressor, and a new Relay, Start switch. When I plugged it in and turned on the refrigerator on it took off. 

Ice was melted, unplugged fridge, pulled back panel. Coil LOADED with lint/dust, used air compressor to blow it out....use a shop vac to try catching what comes off, it makes a mess. Checked compressor with ohm meter, no problems there (youtube it). Starter relay was rattling, which indicates it is bad. Used needle nose pliers to pull connectors off old relay, make sure to put back on correct tabs on new relay. Plugged relay back onto compressor, put back panel on. Plugged in fridge, problem solved. Took longer to vaccuum the mess I made blowing off the coil than replacing the switch. 

Replaced the compressor's Overload and Start Relay.
