How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013682 / WP9703438 Dryer Drum Support Roller Retaining Ring

Replaced the wheel. 

The videos on appliancepartspros.com were so well done, they gave me the confidence to take my dryer apart and narrow down my problem to the Support Roller and Axle. The belt looked very worn so I went ahead and ordered a new one of those also so I wouldn't have to go back in anytime in the near future. The parts arrived two days later. I replaced all the parts (my husband held the drum while I put on the belt) in about 10 minutes, closed up the dryer and started doing laundry within an hour. Wish everything I owned was so easy to fix. 

I opened it up and determined the blower wheel was making excessive noise. I ordered the parts to make the repairs and installed them. I needed a snap ring pliers which I bought at a local hardware store and the repair went as expected. A 3-hour job from start to finish and the dryer is even more quiet than before. 

I put off fixing this 13 year old electric dryer. Then I went and looked at new ones. I looked at Appliance Parts Pros.com web site and figured out that it was not that hard to fix. I took apart the dryer and found that the blower was in fact worn out. I ordered that part from a Chat representative from Appliance Part Pros.com. I got the part in like two days. I spent maybe 3 hours on the repair job. This company is very good. I would order from them again. 

Got help from my son. 

Replaced blower blade, clamp and grove clamp, checked rollers and belt 

Installed new drum rollers and support shafts 

PURCHASED AND REPLAED GEARS IN HOUSING HEAD. APPLIED AMPLE NEW GREASE AFTER REMOVAL OF ALL OLD GEAR GREASE. KITCHENAID NOW WORKS GREAT 

Replaced tumbler bearings, Roller axles and drum support rollers, and changed drum belt. 

Removed front and the blower access panel. Removed the ring from the wheel to slide the wheel off the shaft. I also replaced the snap ring while I was in there.
